Day 171

Dogfish Head
Slightly Mighty
Session IPA

Happy hour at Beaver Dam Gulch, on the Colorado River.

Day 172

Dust Bowl Brewing
Dirty 30's
Pale ale

Very citrusy and refreshing!

Crossing the Mississippi on the last stretch into Chicago, running a bit over two hours late due to wildfires and traffic congestion.

Lone Tree Mexican Lager is pretty tasty. I wish I'd drank it on Friday night with our sweet potato burritos.

By the way, we had amazing homemade breakfast burritos this morning. My wife showed me how to make amazing scrambled eggs (use a silicone spatula!) and I grabbed two cherry peppers from the plant outside and threw them in. She sauteed some onions and garlic in the pan too. Just delicious. The cherry peppers were pleasantly spicy and gave it a nice kick. I want one tomorrow also!

Welcome @beefandbeer - so sorry it took so long for your account to be approved, I never got an email for your request!

Baking a #bread with Kompaan WannaBee #honey #beer. Let's see how that turns out.

Day 164

Belching Beaver
Hazers Gonna Haze
Hazy (duh) IPA

Good, but not outstanding.

Still evacuated, but there's a chance we can go home this weekend.

Day 133

Discretion
Oh Black
Black lager

A cool evening here, with a good beer and some light reading.

Enjoying a little bit of Dos Equis Ambar with my dinner tonight. 🍻😁

Surprise! Beer!

Just a Phase Saison
ABC Brewing
6.25% abv

Ok this one is uh... it's ok! It's got a thin, excitable head and a lovely semi-filtered look to it. It's bracing with just a bit of a sour edge, like the pit of an unripe plum, and immediately followed by a hot flash from the alcohol. It feels like two beers chasing each other in circles in my mouth, and i don't know if that's a good thing. There is a real bracing, bitter taste at the end of it.

Drinkable, not outstanding.

If you like a non sweet drink, these are two nice alcohol free beers.

Day 130

Westbrook Brewing
It's Tiki Time!
Fruited sour

Wotta day. Wildfire scare (yay for fast response!), recalcitrant tractors (I knocked the starter interlock wire loose), lots of mowing and trail clearing. I'm hot tired dirty smelly thirsty, and this tastes so good as I finally collapse into a chair on the laser deck to watch the evening sun.

Day 127

Firestone Walker
Flyjack
Hazy session IPA

Sitting in the deck, listening to a friend's acoustic music livestream.

UFO Light Force is a generally unremarkable white ale that is exactly what I look for in a white ale. Perfectly balanced. Not too hoppy, not too wheaty. Barely perceptible citrus that blends right in. 10/10.

Day 119

Icicle Brewing
Dark Persuasion
Chocolate Stout

Oddly chilly for this time of year here in Yurtville. So it seemed the right time to break out something warming. And I accidentally seem to have consumed four of them. Night night.

Day 117

Oskar Blues
Dale's Pale Ale

An old standby, tasty on a not-as-hot-as-last-night-but-still-hot evening.

There is a junco in the tree nearby attempting to have an argument with Ray Wylie Hubbard's"Mississippi Flush", currently playing on the speaker.

Day 116

Firestone Walker
Luponic Distortion #16
IPA

How they got this too taste so fruity using just hops it's beyond me. But it's 11:30pm and still well about 23Β° C and I've been drinking ice cold ones for 5 hours now. Might be time to go to bed.

Day 114

Lagunitas
Hazy Wonder
IPA

Damn and hazy. Cold on a hot evening.

Day 112

Lost Coast
IPA

Somewhere along the way I skipped a day, maybe two. Anyway, this adjusts the count correctly since Day 0 of our local lockdown (March 17th). Sometimes I feel like The Prisoner Of Covid, tallying the days on the cell wall and tapping out messages on the bars to fellow prisoners who are never seen.

And it's done! Every Mastodon server on Masto.host is now running v3.1.5

masto.beer

The Mastodon instance for those who love beer. I hadn't seen any instances that were specific to beer, so I thought I'd create one. You can post reviews of beers you've tried, recommendations for others, discuss home brewing, share events, etc. Anyone is welcome, whether you're new to the world of beer or a long-time connoisseur.
